CEG – Training Partnerships Vilification Policy
This policy is designed to ensure that CEG – Training Partnerships maintains compliance with the regulatory requirements set out in:
- Standard 2.5 of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Outcome Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations) Instrument 2025
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that CEG – Training Partnerships provides a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all students, staff and stakeholders, free from antisemitism, unlawful vilification, discrimination and harassment.
This policy supports the RTO’s compliance with Standard 2.5 of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Outcome Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations) Instrument 2025.
Scope
This policy applies to all individuals and activities associated with the RTO and is aligned with the requirements of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Outcome Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations) Instrument 2025.
Definitions
Antisemitism
Refers to hostility, prejudice, discrimination, or hatred directed toward Jewish people, Judaism, or Jewish identity. This may be expressed through speech, actions, stereotypes, or systemic behaviours.
Vilification
Public or private conduct that incites hatred, serious contempt, or severe ridicule toward a person or group based on race, religion, ethnicity, or other protected attributes.
Harassment
Unwelcome conduct that offends, humiliates, or intimidates a person and creates a hostile environment.
Victimisation
Any adverse action taken against a person because they have made, or intend to make, a complaint or report under this policy.
Policy Statement
Management
- Ensure this policy is implemented, communicated, and regularly reviewed
- Provide a safe learning and working environment
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and ASQA requirements
Trainers and Staff
- Model respectful and inclusive behaviour
- Promote a safe and supportive learning environment
- Report any incidents or concerns in accordance with this policy
Students
- Treat others with respect and dignity
- Refrain from engaging in antisemitic or vilifying behaviour
- Report incidents or concerns where appropriate
Reporting an incident
Any individual who experiences or witnesses antisemitism or vilification in encouraged to report the matter directly through one of the following:
- Directly to a trainer, assessor or staff member
- To management or a designated contact
- Via the RTO’s formal complaints process located via the website: https://ceg.net.au/
Handling Complaints
All reports are treated seriously, confidentially and impartially in line with the RTO’s complaints and appeals policy.
Outcomes and Actions
Where a breach is demonstrated, actions may include:
- Informal resolution or mediation
- Formal warning or disciplinary action
- Removal from training or termination of employment/engagement (where applicable)
- Referral to external authorities if required
Support for Affected Individuals
The RTO will provide appropriate support to individuals affected by antisemitism or vilification, which may include:
- Access to support services
- Adjustments to training arrangements where required
- Ongoing monitoring to ensure safety and wellbeing
