Course Overview
This course will provide students with the ability to identify health and safety legislative requirements for construction work, identify construction hazards and risk control measures, identify health and safety communication and reporting processes and identify incident and emergency response.
The course content includes:
- Work Health & Safety Legislative Framework
- Hazards and Risks
- Construction Industry Knowledge
- Accidents and Incidents
- Site Safety
It is expected that site-specific induction training will be conducted prior to conducting construction work.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit. Relevant work health and safety state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm jurisdictional requirements.
On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with
- a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry.
- a competency card.
The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance (www.usi.gov.au).
Entry Requirements
- Be at least 14 years of age.
- Students must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
Enrolment form & payment is required prior to training commencing.
Other Requirements
Students will be required to:
- present photo ID.
- declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation.
- wear long sleeves, long pants, and enclosed footwear.
All training materials are supplied by Career Employment Group Inc.
