Course Overview

Learn the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants an children in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

Who should complete this course?

This unit is designed for workers in education and care settings who may be required to respond to a first aid emergency, including early childhood workers and educators working in out-of-hours school care programs.

Tailored for those who work with children, the course covers child-specific first aid scenarios, including anaphylaxis and asthma, as well as common injuries and resuscitation.

What do I get for completing this course?

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in a Education and Care Setting.

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance (www.usi.gov.au).

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants must have the ability to read, write, speak and understand basic English.

Enrolment form & payment is required prior to training commencing.

Other Requirements

Students will be required to:

  • participants are required to complete the online self-paced pre-learning module before attending a face-to-face workshop.
  • present photo ID.
  • declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation.
  • wear neat casual clothes and enclosed footwear.
  • be physically fit enough to complete 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR.
