Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a full time Horticulture Trainee to work with our valued Host Employer, based in the Adelaide CBD and surrounds.

As a trainee, you will undertake a Certificate III in Horticulture, combining practical, on-the-job experience with formal training to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

As a Horticulture Trainee, you may:

• Prepare seedbeds for new turf
• Establish and maintain turf by watering, over sowing or over seeding, and repairing green damage
• Mow, roll, and level turf
• Peg and mark out lines and logos, installing nets, posts and stumps, and placing other sports equipment on playing areas
• Operate and maintain hand and power driven equipment such as mowers, aerators, cultivators, corers and line marking equipment
• Construct cricket wickets and football ovals
• Replant, repair, aerate, fertilise and top dress lawns
• Install and maintain synthetic surfaces
• Maintain buildings, fences, and surrounding gardens

Position Requirements

• Current driver’s licence
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Enjoy working outdoors and using garden tools and equipment
• Reliable, punctual, and well organised
• Ability to use initiative and work effectively in a team
