Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a Glazier Apprentice to work with our valued Host Employer in Edwardstown, Adelaide. This is a full time position, with some weekend work available.

As an apprentice, you will undertake a Certificate III in Glass and Glazing, learning a variety of glass and glazing techniques as well as essential trade skills, while working in a supportive team environment.

Key tasks include:

• Determining type and dimensions of glass required.
• Laying glass over patterns on padded tables and in jigs.
• Measuring and marking glass for cutting.
• Examining glass and marking defective areas.
• Cutting along patterns and templates.
• Breaking off sheets and excess glass with notched tools and glass pliers.
• Installing glass and mirrors in windows, skylights, display cases, interior walls, and ceilings.
• Smoothing rough edges using belt sanders and smoothing wheels.
• May coat, cut, etch, trim and treat glass to achieve special effects.

Position Requirements

• Drivers licence is preferred but not essential if living local to factory site.
• Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical.
• Have a willingness to learn and develop new skills in this trade.
• Be able to use initiative and communicate well to work in a team.
