Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a 3rd or 4th Year Commercial Cookery Trainee to work with our valued Host Employer based in Cavan. This is a full time position, requiring you to work Monday to Friday, with usual hours of 5am - 1pm.
Flexibility with start times may be available for the right candidate, particularly for those relying on public transport.
As part of this opportunity, you will undertake a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, gaining hands-on experience while learning to work effectively in a production kitchen under the guidance of experienced supervisors.
In this role, you will develop a strong foundation in culinary techniques and learn to operate efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Your duties may include:
- Preparing dishes using a range of basic cookery methods
- Preparing vegetable, fruit, egg, and farinaceous dishes
- Cleaning kitchen premises and maintaining equipment in line with WHS standards
- Working collaboratively within a busy kitchen team
Position Requirements
- Current driver’s licence (preferred).
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Be punctual and have a good work ethic.
- Be able to use initiative and work well in a team.
- Have the ability to handle fast paced services.
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical.
