Course Overview

This unit provides students with the skills and knowledge required operate a skid steer loader to load, haul and distribute materials. This unit applies to those working in site based roles.

The course content includes:

  • Identifying and reporting hazards.
  • Equipment inspections.
  • Planning and preparing for skid steer loader operations.
  • Operating a skid steer loader in line with established requirements.
  • Loading, carrying and placing materials to complete work activity.
  • Selecting, removing, fitting, and using attachments for a
  • skid steer loader.
  • Relocating a skid steer loader.
  • Carrying out post-operational requirements, including cleaning and disposing or recycling materials.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be issued with:

  • a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO318F – Conduct civil construction skid steer loader operations.
  • a competency card.

Entry Requirements

  • Be at least 16 years of age.
  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
  • Have a basic understanding of mathematics

Enrolment form & payment is required prior to training commencing.

Other Requirements

Students will be required to:

  • present photo ID.
  • declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation.
  • wear long sleeves, long pants, and enclosed footwear.

All training materials are supplied by Career Employment Group Inc.

  • Full-time attendance at a CEG training facility.
