Civil Excavator
Course Overview
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate excavator operations to lift carry and place materials. This unit applies to those working in site-based roles.
The course content includes:
- Plan and prepare for excavator operations.
- Operate an excavator in line with established requirements.
- Lift, carry, and place materials to complete work activity.
- Select, remove, fit and use attachments for an excavator.
- Relocate an excavator.
- Carry out post-operational requirements related to cleaning, checking and storing plant, tools and equipment.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be issued with:
- a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO320F – Conduct civil construction excavator operations.
- a competency card.
The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance (www.usi.gov.au).
Entry Requirements
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
- Have a basic understanding of mathematics
Enrolment form & payment is required prior to training commencing.
Other Requirements
Students will be required to:
- present photo ID.
- declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation.
- wear long sleeves, long pants, and enclosed footwear.
All training materials are supplied by Career Employment Group Inc.

- Full-time attendance at a CEG training facility.
